Queen Máxima of the Netherlands stamp design

Stamp design
Queen Máxima of the Netherlands
Koningin Máxima der Nederlanden
The concept behind this design was to cross two of my major interests: philately and monarchy. For the illustration of Her Majesty's portrait, the engraving technique that historically characterized stamps and banknotes centuries ago was used, which was a fun experiment.
Máxima Zorreguieta, born on 17 May 1971 in Buenos Aires, Argentina is Queen of the Netherlands as the wife of King Willem-Alexander. She worked in marketing when she met Willem-Alexander, eldest son and heir apparent of Queen Beatrix, in 1999. They married in 2002, and became king and queen on the abdication of her mother-in-law on 30 April 2013. Máxima has promoted social integration of immigrants, LGBT rights, and financial inclusion. She and Willem-Alexander have three daughters, Princesses Catharina-Amalia, Alexia, and Ariane, who are first, second, and third, respectively, in the line of succession.
The engraving process was done in Adobe Photoshop, following a digital art technique and adjusting a mesh of lines by means of layers, thus creating the effect that was once done by hand.
